Trained in computer science and music, Jeff is an artist, musician, and engineer whose work has increasingly focused on sustainable energy and natural systems. One such work, EarthSpeaker, is a set of solar-powered acoustic sculptures currently under development for free103point9's Wave Farm in Acra, New York, with support from the New York State Council on the Arts. His robotic sonic sculptures, invented musical instruments, and software have been exhibited internationally at venues including the Lincoln Center, 7th Street Entry, the Soho Apple Store, the Walker Art Center, Eyebeam, the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, MixedMedia Milan. He teaches electronics, sustainable energy, and digital audio at NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program, where he was also a Resident Researcher, and he has previously worked for the NASA flight hardware developer Honeybee Robotics, the American Museum of Natural History, and Minnesota Public Radio. He currently runs Habana Labs, a non-profit dedicated to researching sustainable energy.
