Artist-in residence August Black is live from Wave Farm with remote collaboration from Steve Bradley (of Bells, Bugs, Whispers & Plinks). A performative radio work, BROOD X reCALL explores the recent sonic drone spectacle of the 17-year cicadas that took place Spring 2021. Black and Bradley will juxtapose and mix with cicada drone samples, the chirps and whistles of radio communication, narrative anecdotes about the BROOD X and other pertinent topics. The backdrop of the radio program will be real time sound of the artists' mutual space, mixed together, as the cicada nymphs continue to bore deep below us all to live out their next 17 years in the dark among the roots of the trees.
