Thursday, July 28: Tom Crowell of the Columbia Land Conservancy will talk about the history of two local ponds: Borden and Ooms. Then Anna Acciana -- just back from living in Uruguay for 6 months -- will talk about her experiences and offer mate, a popular hot drink in it's traditional form.

Open four-week workshop with Yura Adams, at the Athens Cultural Center, Mondays from 6 - 8:30 pm. (July 25th, August 1, August 8th, and August 15th). Yura Adams leads a new workshop for teen artists interested in developing their artistic voice and creating a strong portfolio for submission to colleges or other institutions. Topics will include editing, how to photograph work, rounding out the portfolio, and otherwise preparing the portfolio for submission including specific requirements of schools and other institutions. Studio projects will include painting, drawing, and design and will be directed towards developing a cohesive portfolio. All mediums are invited: painting, drawing, photograph, installation, and video. Instructor Yura Adams holds and MFA and BFA from the San Francisco Arts Institute and has teaching experience at IS183, CGCC, and Rhode Island School of Design.

"Everyday Experts" presents talks and an information exchange at the Gazebo (on Main Street) in Chatham on four Thursday evenings from 7- 8 p.m. Thursday July 21st: Jay Rippel, Master Sergeant will talk about his experiences while stationed in Afghanistan, with Robert Bruneau (age 8) who will demonstrate his drum-playing talents and will invite the public to try his drums. Thursday, July 28: Tom Crowell of the Columbia Land Conservancy will talk about the history of two local ponds: Borden and Ooms. Then Anna Acciana -- just back from living in Uruguay for 6 months -- will talk about her experiences and offer mate, a popular hot drink in it's traditional form.

Open four-week workshop with Yura Adams, at the Athens Cultural Center, Mondays from 6 - 8:30 pm. (July 25th, August 1, August 8th, and August 15th). Yura Adams leads a new workshop for teen artists interested in developing their artistic voice and creating a strong portfolio for submission to colleges or other institutions. Topics will include editing, how to photograph work, rounding out the portfolio, and otherwise preparing the portfolio for submission including specific requirements of schools and other institutions. Studio projects will include painting, drawing, and design and will be directed towards developing a cohesive portfolio. All mediums are invited: painting, drawing, photograph, installation, and video. Instructor Yura Adams holds and MFA and BFA from the San Francisco Arts Institute and has teaching experience at IS183, CGCC, and Rhode Island School of Design.

Yura Adams leads a new workshop for teen artists interested in developing their artistic voice and creating a strong portfolio for submission to colleges or other institutions. Topics will include editing, how to photograph work, rounding out the portfolio, and otherwise preparing the portfolio for submission including specific requirements of schools and other institutions. Studio projects will include painting, drawing, and design and will be directed towards developing a cohesive portfolio. All mediums are invited: painting, drawing, photograph, installation, and video. Instructor Yura Adams holds and MFA and BFA from the San Francisco Arts Institute and has teaching experience at IS183, CGCC, and Rhode Island School of Design.

The interpretations and thoughts about food are expressed through art in this multi-media show celebrating the joy of bounty and connection to food — its taste, form, color, texture, and aroma.
