Bird Fly Yellow is a jazz quartet playing "avant jump swing," from NYC and Philadelphia. Featuring Joe Moffeet, Dan Blacksberg and Dave Flaherty. Joe Moffett is a trumpeter/improviser based in Brooklyn. He has performed with musicians such as Joe Morris, Kenny Wollesen, Tony Malaby, Ras Moshe, Luther Gray, Forbes Graham and Jim Hobbs. Dan Blacksberg is a trombonist living in Philadelphia. He happily plays with Bobby Zankel and the Warriors of the Wonderful Sound and leads the Hassidic punk band Electric Simcha. As both an avant-garde and klezmer trombonist, Blacksberg can be found playing with bands ranging from Anthony Braxton’s Opera Orchestra or Alan Bern’s Other Europeans.
