Gibson votes against CISPA again

Apr 19, 2013 12:05 am
For the second year in a row, Congressman Chris Gibson (R-Kinderhook) voted against the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA), which passed the U.S. House of Representatives Thu., April 18 288 to 127, largely with Republican support. The proposal, which would allow the government to force computer information sharing with the government, is derided by privacy-oriented groups such as the American Civil Liberties Union. The bill now moves to the Senate, where last year both New York Democrat Senators, Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, voted for a slightly different version of CISPA. President Barack Obama has said he will veto the bill. Read more about the vote at Ars Technica.
