Comcast gives up bid for Time Warner Cable

The Daily Freeman, Bloomberg News, and The New York Times reported April 23 that Comcast is abandoning its $45.2 billion purchase of Time Warner Cable, a company with a large customer base in the Mid-Hudson Valley. New York's Public Service Commission was waiting for federal regulators to move first on the issue of the merger, and this week, the Federal Communications Commission moved to make it difficult to obtain approval.
