The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center is forecasting a potentially significant damaging wind event across much of the northeastern U.S. on Saturday afternoon. Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop across the northern Mid-Atlantic region into New England during the afternoon and evening hours. So far, there is a "Hazardous Weather Outlook" for the entire area. "Tornado potential will be maximized during the mid-late afternoon hours from NE Penn. into the Hudson Valley," according to the alert.
