Hosted by Kieran Riley (Monday), Pastor Kim Singletary (1st, 3rd Tuesday), Randall Martin (2nd, 4th Tuesday), Tom DePietro and Selha Graham (Thursday), and a rotating collection of hosts (Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday)

In the 4 p.m. hour, host Kieran Riley is joined by Bryan Zimmerman and Tara Eldred who will audition a new segment called "P.O.P" (Prevention On Point) for WGXC! And during the 5 p.m. hour, Noah Harley who organizes The Moral Panic Variety Hour Zooms in with Kieran to talk about the upcoming show at The Avalon Lounge: "It Was Like the End of the World" | The Creation and Destruction of the Ashokan Resivoir.

Tara Eldred, Director of Prevention Services, has been with Twin County Recovery Services Inc. for five years. During this time the Prevention Department has quadrupled in size and is able to provide services to all residents of Columbia and Greene Counties. Tara feels strongly about meeting people where they are, listening, and providing sincere assistance. Whether that is for our school-aged youth, young adults, grandparents, or the community at large, every human deserves time. Fun fact: Tara was the Owner/ Choreographer for a dance academy, Petite Productions for 17 years in Catskill, NY. Bryan Zimmerman is the Family Support Navigator at Twin County Recovery Services, where he provides free support to people with loved ones whose lives have been impacted by substance use disorder. For over 25 years, Bryan has also been a practicing artist and educator, regularly exploring subjects related to the social dimensions of health and environmental justice.

About "It Was Like the End of the World" | The Creation and Destruction of the Ashokan Resivoir: Between 1906 and 1913, New York City built the Ashokan Reservoir, one of the era’s the largest handmade public works. Using eminent domain, pack mules and dynamite, the city totally altered the region’s profile, buying up and razing eleven Catskill hamlets, relocating thousands, and eventually exhuming 2,700 graves. “It was one of the most gruesomest interesting jobs I’ve ever worked on,” one teamster recalled. Today the reservoir provides around 40% of New York City’s drinking water, and raises questions still about the relationship between NYC and the Hudson Valley, what it means to share natural resources, and the cost of progress.

On February 13 at 8 p.m. at The Avalon Lounge, The Moral Panic Variety Hour plumbs the various depths of the reservoir: Though silent films; an interview with local author and historian Frank Almquist; music from Will Lawrence; a live reenactment of the severe thunderstorm that first flooded the reservoir in November 1914, with soundscapes by musician / writer Ben Seretan; and a rare performance from The Dead Cowboys, a group of restless musical spirits who reside at the bottom of the watery pit itself.
