New Year's Eve performances.

One and all are invited to ring in the New Year with WGXC at the Half Moon in Hudson! Our sixth annual fundraising bash starts off with karaoke hosted by Amanda Lees, followed by dancing to the music of Blueberry (www.blueberrylounge.com) straight into 2019. Then, DJ Var (WGXC’s “Friday Night Vibes Session”) takes control into the wee hours. Your $10-$20 (sliding scale) contribution at the door benefits WGXC 90.7-FM. Food will be available all night from the Taste of India food truck, with a portion of food sales also to benefit WGXC. The entire event will be broadcast live on 90.7-FM and wgxc.org. We look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones!

Hudson Area Library and The Greater Hudson Promise Neighborhood are proud to announce High Five!, our five-week early literacy family program. Our new winter session includes “Weaving Tales and Oral Traditions to Develop Literacy,” “Cooking as a Means of Encouraging Literacy in Your Child,” and “Stuck Indoors? Literacy Ideas for Snowy Days.” Participants will receive books and prizes each week and gift certificates to Rolling Grocer 19 will be awarded to all families with excellent attendance. Lunch is also provided and we will be emphasizing healthy foods kids like to eat. Transportation to the library is available upon request. Frenchy and The Punk Celebrate the release of their new album "Hooray Beret." Imagine Siouxsie Sioux and Dee Dee Ramone had a duo that was inspired by Django Reinhardt, Edith Piaf, Toulouse Lautrec and Deepak Chopra, this is what it might sound like. The Dust Bowl Faeries are a dark-carnival band based in Hudson, NY. Accordion, singing saw, ukulele, lap-steel, guitar and percussion swirl together, creating a melange of circus, post-punk, Gypsy and psyche-folk music.

This story hour, with Pamela Badila, provides families with the opportunity to explore stories that formed the traditions and ethics of specific cultures. Sundays through June 28, 2019.
