Oneohtrix Point Never—aka Daniel Lopatin—is a Brooklyn-based composer who creates electronic music that is often described as “cinematic” and “orchestral.” While broad in range, Lopatin does not ignore the small stuff; his sound engineering crafts and controls every detail and effect. Pulling from a wide range of influences—synth sounds, television commercials, classical minimalism, and high-end audio production—Lopatin condenses the disparate sounds to form music that slopes forward with self-contained narratives. Oneohtrix Point Never performs new music with visuals from his upcoming album R Plus Seven.

No conventional sports documentary, The Trials of Muhammad Ali investigates its extraordinary and often complex subject's life outside the boxing ring. From joining the controversial Nation of Islam and changing his name from Cassius Clay to Muhammad Ali, to his refusal to serve in the Vietnam War in the name of protesting racial inequality, to his global humanitarian work, Muhammad Ali remains an inspiring and controversial figure.
Outspoken and passionate in his beliefs, Ali found himself in the center of America's controversies over race, religion, and war. From Kartemquin Films - makers of such acclaimed documentaries as Hoop Dreams and The Interrupters - and Academy Award-nominated director Bill Siegel ( The Weather Underground ), The Trials of Muhammad Ali examines how one of the most celebrated sports champions of the 20th century risked his fame and fortune to follow his faith and conscience.

A film by Joshua Oppenheimer. "A masterpiece . . . and a major achievement . "- says The Village Voice. In this chilling and inventive documentary, executive produced by Errol Morris ( The Fog Of War ) and Werner Herzog ( Grizzly Man ), the filmmakers examine a country where death squad leaders are celebrated as heroes, challenging them to reenact their real-life mass-killings in the style of the American movies they love. The hallucinatory result is a cinematic fever dream, an unsettling journey deep into the imaginations of mass-murderers and the shockingly banal regime of corruption and impunity they inhabit. Shaking audiences at the 2012 Toronto and Telluride Film Festivals and winning an Audience Award at the 2013 Berlin International Film Festival, The Act of Killing is an unprecedented film that, according to The Los Angeles Times, "could well change how you view the documentary form."

Tour at The Fields Sculpture Park at OMI International Arts Center
“Nature and/in Sculpture” at 2 PM led by Friedolin Stockmeier.
This 30 minute tour explores the significance of the sculpture park’s natural environment in relation to pieces that intentionally, or otherwise, include nature. From Robert Grosvenor’s “Untitled, 1968,” which may initially seem to contrast the environment, to Paula Hayes’ “Trees for ET’s, 2013,” which can be seen to harmonize with the park by featuring growing plants, viewers will see a spectrum of pieces that question, reinterpret and expand the relationship between sculptures and their natural context.

A film by Margarethe von Trotta. Barbara Sukowa reteams with director Margarethe von Trotta ("Vision," "Rosa Luxemburg") for the biopic of German-Jewish philosopher and political theorist Hannah Arendt. Arendt's reporting on the 1961 trial of ex-Nazi Adolf Eichmann in "The New Yorker" -- controversial both for her portrayal of Eichmann and the Jewish councils -- introduced her concept of the "Banality of Evil." The film uses footage from the actual Eichmann trial and weaves a narrative that spans three countries. Co-stars Klaus Pohl as philosopher Martin Heidegger, Nicolas Woodeson as "New Yorker" editor William Shawn, and Janet McTeer (Albert Nobbs) as novelist Mary McCarthy.
