Instructor Chris Chanin will teach the students to move and capture with all the pieces, basic strategic ideas, and materials for the children to use both during the class and at home will be provided. The function of the Cairo Public Library is to provide the Cairo community with access to a balanced collection of books and other materials to serve their educational, cultural and recreational needs. John Gallagher plays bagpipes at 9:30 a.m. before the broadcast part of the event. At 10 a.m., New York State Representative Pete Lopez (R-Schoharie), Rep. Chris Gibson (R-Kinderhook), Greene County Legislator Harry Lennon (D-Cairo), Cairo Town Supervisor Ted Banta (D-Cairo), and others will speak at the grand opening of the new library, and their words will be broadcast on WGXC 90.7-FM. Greg Stewart will also be performing later inside the library, after the broadcast portion of the event.
