Town, county sign senior center lease agreement

Jim Planck is reporting in The Daily Mail the town of Catskill and Greene County have come to terms on the county's use of the Washington Irving Senior Center as a Meals on Wheels preparation site. Catskill Town Supervisor Joseph Leggio said the lease agreement was signed Mon., Feb. 9. Under the terms of the new lease, the Wheels program no longer has exclusive use of the center's kitchen for five hours each day. The county also agreed to pay rent in the amount of $1,250 per month. The volunteer-supported Meals on Wheels program is administered in Greene County by the Department of Human Services. The food that is distributed to the home bound is cooked and boxed in the senior center’s kitchen. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
