Document shredding service will be available to seniors in December
Nov 15, 2019 12:45 pm
The Office of Columbia County Clerk Holly Tanner has announced the KISS Program will be available to seniors from December 2 through 13. The program provides older residents the opportunity to shred sensitive documents free of charge by dropping the materials off at local town halls. Keeping the Identities of Seniors Safe, or KISS, Program was founded by Tanner six years ago. Seniors bring their sensitive materials, such as old credit card receipts, bank statements or tax records, to their local town hall, where they are placed in a locked 64-gallon container. The container is securely stashed until Certified Document Security removes the container and brings it to their facility in New Lebanon for shredding. All 18 towns located in Columbia County participate in the program. Anyone interested is directed to contact their local town hall for hours of operation and more information. NOTE: Tanner is an active WGXC volunteer programmer.
