Catskill offers space to county paramedic service

Kemble is reporting in the Daily Freeman the Catskill Town Board has given the Greene County Emergency Medical System the option of moving into the Catskill Rescue Squad building under a deal that could reduce the town’s cost for paramedic coverage. At a town board meeting Tues., Feb. 4, town ambulance administrator George June said the paramedic service pays about $3,000 per month in rent that could be waived if it shared space with the town. The Catskill Town Board has been considering whether to seek paramedic certification for the Catskill Rescue Squad, troubled by rising costs for Greene County Emergency Medical System coverage.
