Hosted by the Prison Voices Project Media Collective.

This broadcast focuses on residency restrictions faced by individuals following conviction of a sex offense. The conversation focuses on a new policy in New York state which authorizes the Department of Corrections and Community Services to detain people past their prison sentence if they are convicted of certain categories of sex offenses when they cannot find housing at least 1,000 feet outside of a school zone. Interviews with attorneys from Manhattan's Legal Aid Society, Center for Appellate Litigation, and the Office of the Appellate Defender are featured. Plus, Josh Gravens, executive director of Organize Justice, a Texas-based group that engages and organizes justice-involved individuals, and Dr. Jill Levenson, an expert on sex offender registry restrictions based at Barry University. Produced by Alexandra Cox.
