Cuomo proposing $15 minimum wage

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is backing a $15 minimum wage in the state, announcing his decision at an event with Vice President Joe Biden Sept. 10. Rick Karlin in Capitol Confidential writes that, "by putting the proposal to the legislature, Cuomo is forcing an income inequality debate on the Senate which is facing a 2016 election. With a potentially large Democratic turnout, especially if Hillary Clinton is the nominee, GOP Senators may feel unusual pressure to go along, at least in some purple suburbs where voters swing back and forth from Democrat to Republican."
