Gibson votes against NSA call collection

Chris Gibson (R-Kinderhook) aligned with liberal Democrats such as Jerrold Nadler of New York City, Wed., July 24, in a failed attempt to block the National Security Agency from collecting phone records of many American calls. Gibson voted aye on the amendment from Michigan Republican Justin Amash that failed 205-to-217. President Barack Obama and Republican House Speaker John Boehner were among those publicly supporting the continuation of the NSA's phone records collection program, recently uncovered by leaks from Edward Snowden.
