We are presenting the part 8 of the series Paises, Countries, with 2 30 minutes segments dedicated to 2 different countries. Today is the turn to the music of Brazil and Guatemala.

We start with Guatemala the land of Marimba and Garifuna. Marimba has been played as early as 1680 and Garifuna is heavily influence by the African Guatemalan population, in addition the Mayan music is important in the country representing the original natives of the land. Ricardo Arjona, Gaby Moreno, Malacates Trebol Shop, among others will be highlighted in the show.

Brazil, the music that encompasses various musical styles with influences from African, European and Amerindian forms will be in the second half of the show with Chico Buarque, Vinicius, Antonio Carlos Jobim and a beautiful guitar and cello rendition of Heitor Villa-Lobos Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5.
