NWS issues a Winter Weather Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory to remain in effect from 4 a.m. to noon, Monday, Feb. 11, in the Capital District, Mid-Hudson Valley, Taconics, southern Berkshires and northwest Conn. Expect freezing rain, snow and sleet, with accumulations of less than one inch. The snow and sleet will begin around daybreak and quickly change to sleet and freezing rain shortly thereafter. The sleet and freezing should turn to rain before noon. The NWS warns of extremely slippery roads and isolated power outages, as well as isolated downed tree limbs and power lines. Temperatures will range from the upper 20s to around 30 at daybreak, increasing into the lower to mid-40s by afternoon.
