In this broadcast, host Jack Sencabaugh shares his own commentary while reading excerpts from the book “May God in His Mercy Spare Our Lives: The Civil War Letters and Diary of Eseck G. Wilber, 120th NYV”. Eseck Wilber was a young man from Greenville, NY who fought in the Civil War from 1862 to 1864. The book was compiled and edited by Hudson Valley historian Sylvia Hasenkopf and published by the Cairo Historical Society. The show features interviews with local historians, longtime residents with stories to tell, and archival recorded material.
