A second Greene village with no challenged races

There, the veteran reporter Jim Planck reports, the big surprise was the approval of a full slate of newcomers for the village's three open positions, including a 30-year old taking the mayor's slot from Lee McGunnigle, who's held the position on and off for decades. As it turns out, local businessman Jason Dugo, who owns a Main Street dog grooming business, will now be the Dems' mayoral candidate, and Jeremiah Dixon and Christopher Hack will run for two trustee seats. Dugo said the three want to bring a new vitality to the community for both residents and visitors. Last week, party caucuses in the Village of Catskill resulted in two cross-endorsements, one of an incumbent Democratic trustee, the other if an incumbent Republican village justice. The region's village elections are March 15.
