Hosted by the Prison Voices Project Media Collective.

Milk Not Jails, the Center for Law & Justice, New York State Prisoner Justice Network, Capitol Area Against Mass Incarceration, and NYInsideOUT delivered and installed an exhibit of more than 100 letters from people in prison and their families recounting their experience with repeated denial of parole in New York state. Tune in to hear excerpts from these letters and coverage of the campaign to pass the SAFE Parole act. Hosted by Cory Fischer-Hoffman.
The letters, each of which details a person’s personal journey towards redemption, paints a tragic picture of the state’s parole system and proposes a clear solution: the Safe and Fair Evaluations (SAFE) Parole Act. The SAFE Parole Act would fundamentally reform the parole process by increasing parole board accountability and empowering people in prison to prepare for parole.
