The Yoga Prison Project sends Yoga books and instructors into prisons in New York state and beyond. We will hear from Mahadev Chaitanya and Srinavasan from the Sivananda Yoga Ranch in the Catskills about their work teaching asanas (yoga postures) in prisons in Sullivan County. They also raise funds to send free yoga books to incarcerated people throughout the United States. We will also re-broadcast a short clip on the need for mental health care, nutritious food, access to exercise and hepatitis testing in prison. Vicki Law from the Birthing Behind Bars campaign will speak about reproductive rights in prison and the campaign to end the shackling of women giving birth and in labor.
