Nan Marron

Dick Sabol, a retired Broadway actor and is living in our area will be on WGXC's etiquette program, hosted by Nan Marron. Sabol directed and produced by Hal Prince; and Promises, Promises produced by David Merrick. He also created the role of Boris in Three Bags Full by Jerome Chodorov which was directed by Gower Champion. He was critically acclaimed for his work in the films Cotton Comes to Harlem and Come Back Charleston Blue, both produced by Samuel Goldwyn, Jr. He has appeared on all major television networks including many daytime dramas. Other shows include Route 66, The Honeymooners starring Jackie Gleason, and specials such as Bob Hope in Central Park and The Man Without a Country, starring Cliff Robertson. Dick is a member of the American Renaissance Theater Company in New York City. ARTC is a developmental workshop of actors, writers, and directors dedicated to expanding the skills of its professional membership. Dick joined as an actor and discovered he could write. His first two plays were comedies, Death of a Diefenbachia and Dying To Get There – both were represented in ARTC’s Spring Reading Series at the Neighborhood Playhouse in NY - as well his drama Altered. Most recently he collaborated with Julius Landau on a one- act melodrama Mushrooms which was produced in 2011 at the Dragonfly Performing Arts Center in Cairo, NY; and for All Arts Matter, in Greenville, NY. Dick was a finalist twice for the Jerry Kaufman Award for excellence in playwriting.
