Neighbors Helping Neighbors Greene County (NHNGC), the group formed after the storms and flooding associated with Hurricane Irene, has grown to become a countywide resource with a new website, www.neighborshelpingneighborsgreenecounty.com. Besides raising money and help for victims of the storms, the group is now working on other efforts, like their Prom Dress Drive. Michael Ryan in the Windham Journal reports that the Windham Area Recreation Foundation says it gave out $162,501 in donations to 64 citizens and 46 merchants affected by the storms associated with Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.
