Perseid meteor shower Saturday night
Aug 11, 2012 2:04 pm
The Perseid meteor shower peaks Sat., Aug. 11 through the morning of August 12. "Perseid rates can get as high as 100 per hour, with many fireballs visible in the night sky," NASA says. There is a waning crescent moon, and perhaps some clouds, that may interfere. NASA also has a live chat and a live webcam from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. EDT, beginning the evening of Aug. 11 and continuing into the morning of Aug. 12.
