Palenville group airs parking complaints

Jim Planck writes in The Daily Mail the guest speaker at the meeting Mon., Aug. 26, of the community group Palenville the Hamlet was Greene County Sheriff’s Lt. Karl Gonzalez. Gonzalez fielded a variety of concerns voiced by members, which were mostly seasonal visitor related. The chief observation was how improper parking next to swimming holes has gotten out of hand since the crackdown on illegal parking in Kaaterskill Clove to address over usage and resource abuse problems. Gonzalez noted it is typically only a handful of people that create a problem. Vehicles are not permitted to park on the pavement, impede the driving lane, or to park on private property. The group also discussed how ATVs are being raced on Malden Ave. and the speed of early morning tractor trailers passing through the community. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
