Ski Report: Catamount opens Saturday

Catamount Ski.[/caption]Catamount Ski finally opens this weekend, after a disappointing December in terms of snowfall delayed the ski season in Columbia County. This weekend there is a chance for light snow at higher altitudes, and a storm on Tuesday may drop a little more white stuff on the mountains. At Catamount only the Upper and Lower Glade, On Stage, and Catamount runs will be open this weekend, with limited width and 2-12" of man-made snow, for advanced skiers and riders only. Lift tickets are only $20 this weekend due to the limited terrain, and they do not have lessons yet. At Hunter Mountain, skiing and riding will be for all ability levels and they are re-opening terrain on Hunter One with 0-30" of manufactured snow on the slopes.
