We have some very special guests on today’s Monday Afternoon Show. Last week, Sara Kendall traveled to Vancouver and spoke with Radio Guru, Frieda Werden, the co-founder and producer of the weekly radio series WINGS: Women's International News Gathering Service, which has been in weekly syndication for more than twenty years. Werden has also served as the president of the International Association of Women in Radio and Television, on the International Board of Directors of the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC), and is the recipient of the inaugural "Lifetime Achievement Award" from the National Campus and Community Radio Association of Canada.

We will also be broadcasting “Water Water Everywhere,” a compilation of recordings, produced by Jess Puglisi, from Saturday in Prattsville, the first day of their Mud Fest, commemorating the first anniversary of the flood, which hit a year ago on Tuesday.

For the five o’clock hour, we are please to have Dan and Caren Mahar, the founders of Camp Sundown, a year-round “night camp” in Craryville, NY dedicated to children all around the world effected by life-threatening sun-sensitivity disorders, most notably XP, xeroderma pigmentosum, a rare genetic disease. In addition to a full schedule of camp activities, the XP Society offers information, support, advocacy, and protection to the XP family, patient and caregiver while promoting research for a cure.Closing up the show will be live music by Marty and Tom from The Reverberators, who will be playing today at 8pm at Helsinki.
