Hudson board candidates face off at forum

Candidates for election to the Hudson City Board of Education participated in a forum, Tues., May 14, at Time & Space Limited in Hudson. The event was co-sponsored by TSL and WGXC 90.7-FM. Five district residents are vying for two open seats. Jaclyn Rose Bruntfield, Joseph E. Carr, Scott D. diMonda, Tiffany Martin Hamilton and, Lynn E. Lee answered questions submitted by audience members for 90 minutes. The discussion covered a variety of topics including, the most pressing issues facing the district, the federal No Child Left Behind legislation and standardized testing, the district's shortage of minority teachers, the art of making unpopular decisions and the challenge of engaging the community.
