Eshel speaks on transmission lines

[caption width="200" align="alignright"] From Bard College website.[/caption]The Hudson Valley Smart Energy Coalition hosted a public meeting about the need for high-voltage electrical transmission line expansion in the Hudson Valley on Nov. 1 on the Bard College campus in the Bertelsmann Campus Center. The presentation included a talk from Gidon Eshel, PhD., a Bard College Research Professor of Environmental Science and Physics, who says the proposed power lines snaking through the Hudson Valley to New York City may not be needed. WGXC's Tom Masterson was at the presentation and made the following recordings, that will also air, partially, Wed., Nov. 12 on the "WGXC Evening News."

Members of the Coalition were on the "WGXC Afternoon Show" Thu., Oct. 16 with hosts Tom DePietro and Ellen Thurston. Ian Solomon, with Farmers and Families for Claverack, Pam Kline of Farmers and Families for Livingston, and Livingston Councilman Will Yandik previewed the meeting on the show.
