Valatie eyes switch to Viridian 'green' power

Emilia Teasdale is reporting in the Columbia Paper the village of Valatie and town of Kinderhook are considering a new supplier of electric service in an attempt to save energy costs. Both the Valatie Village and Kinderhook Town boards recently heard from Viridian Energy representative Pat Manning about the company, and the environmentally friendly sources of the power it provides. Manning also works with the towns of Greenport and Chatham, and the city of Hudson, as well. Manning told the Valatie board it could save nearly 11 cents per kilowatt-hour with Viridian. Valatie board member Frank Bevens said he believes the proposal will result in big savings for both the village and town. Read the full story in the Columbia Paper.
