• RADIO RAFFLE The Rip Van Winkle Amateur Radio Society is holding a picnic 10 a.m. Sun., Aug. 9 at the Claverack Town Park. There will be hot dogs, and a radio raffle of a Baofeng 220MHz/2METER HT.
• WGXC continues to accept applications for local programmers. There are several possibilities:
* Community affairs shows can be hosted in WGXC studios in Acra, Catksill, or Hudson.
* Youth shows air from 3:30-4 p.m. Mon-Sat.
* Join a team of broadcasters on the "WGXC Morning Show" or "WGXC Afternoon Show" from Acra, Catksill, or Hudson.
* Music shows in the afternoon or evening.
* Radio art on Saturdays and late at night.
