Lopez will run for Gibson's seat

[caption width="117" align="alignleft"] Photo of Pete Lopez from Wikipedia.[/caption]Joe Mahoney in the Daily Star reports that Assemblyman Pete Lopez (R-Schoharie) told The Daily Star Oct. 8 that he will be run for New York's 19th Congressional District seat held by retiring Rep. Chris Gibson (R-Kinderhook). Lopez, 54, represents the 102nd Assembly District in the New York State Assembly which includes all of Schoharie County and portions of Chenango, Columbia, Delaware, Greene, Otsego, and Ulster counties. John Faso, a Republican from Columbia County who ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2006, and Andrew Heaney, a Dutchess County oil company executive who raised some $643,256 in the quarter ending Sept. 30, have both also announced for the election.
