Rediscovering Crane Wilbur
Tue., Nov. 10, 6-10 p.m. at Crossroads Brewery, Athens.
The Athens Citizens Development Committee presents a mini film festival celebrating Athens' forgotten son, Crane Wilbur. Born in Athens in 1886, Wilbur became one of the world's most popular film stars in the early 20th century and went on to write, direct, and star in numerous film and stage works. From the 1930s to the 1960s he wrote and directed prison films, police procedurals, and B-horror flicks. This event takes place at Crossroads Brewing Co, which was formerly the Brooks Opera House where Wilbur performed locally. Featuring "Yellow Cargo"(1936), "I was a Communist for the FBI"(1951), and "Tomorrow's Children"(1934).
Hudson Veterans Day Parade
Wed., Nov. 11, 10:15 a.m.
The Hudson parade steps off from the 7th Street park following 10:15 a.m. ceremonies, and heads down Warren Street and over 4th to the Courthouse Park for more ceremonies.

Great American Smokeout

Students at Taconic Hills Jr./Sr. High School, Coxsackie-Athens High School, and Hunter-Tannersville High School are participating in a Capital Region wide Great American Smokeout.
