Joe Gentile is reporting in The Daily Mail the Hudson River remains polluted and unsafe for swimming. A new report conducted by the environmental group Riverkeeper found the rate of sewage contamination of the Hudson River Estuary during a recent five-year period was three times higher than what was reported for beaches nationwide during that same period. The group sampled from sites located between Troy and New York harbor. Several measurements taken over time at the Hudson Boat Launch and at the Athens Sewage Treatment Plant exceeded Environmental Protection Agency acceptable levels.
