"Women’s Voices: An International and Multi-Cultural Selection of Women’s Poetry from Around the World": Guest co-host Gillian Nash Miles joins us for our first broadcast of the new year. We'll honor the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in New York state with a multicultural selection of poetry by women from around the world. Local women artists and writers will be reading works by: Anne Carson, Alejandra Pizarnik, Alaide Foppa, Emily Dickinson, Ingeborg Bachmann, Claudia Rankine, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Naomi Shahib Nye, Inger Christensen, ye mimi, Gertrude Stein and Sylvia Plath. Both contemporary and historical, these poems will examine the distinct insight, power and uniqueness of the contribution women have made to the world of poetry.
