Meet Tom Masterson, Your Friendly Neighborhood Economist. Tom is a research scholar at the Levy Economics Institute of College, where he researches the distribution of income and welth; and a staff economist with the Center for Popular Economics, an Amherst-based collective of political economists devoted to demystifying economics and giving social change activists tools to apply economic analyses in their work.
"Your Friendly Neighborhood Economist" is a new monthly show on WGXC: Hands-on Radio to let you know what's happening in the economy locally, nationally, and internationally. You already know a lot more about economics than you may have been led to believe, especially if you listen to the news much. Tom's job is to translate all the jargon and fill in the gaps for you in plain English. So hold onto your hats - the Economist is in.
