New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a Democrat who used to live in Greenport, and Rep. Chris Gibson, a Republican from Kinderhook, spoke about the transmission of Lyme disease at Agroforesty Center in Acra on Oct. 18. The two are stumping for the "Lyme and Tick-Borne Disease and Prevention, Education, and Research Act," legislation to fight the spread of tick-borne disease.
