Ski Report: Light snow expected for Windham fest
Dec 07, 2012 12:04 am
[caption id="" align="alignright" width="113"]Windham Mountain's Ullr Festival is Sat., Dec. 8.[/caption]Last week's minor snow coating was enough to get two of the area's ski centers started. That snow melted away, but the cold is back, and there are light snow showers predicted throughout the weekend at higher altitudes locally. Windham Mountain, which holds its Ullr Festival Sat., Dec. 8 for a mythological Norse ski god, has eight trails with one lift open, with a base of 10-26" of mostly manufactured snow. Hunter Mountain is open along the Hellgate, 7th Ave., Kennedy Drive, and Fifth Avenue lines with a six-passenger chair lift operating over 6-48" of mostly manufactured snow. Catamount Ski is not open yet but their website says, "we're making snow on ten trails.... Check back for opening day updates." Click here to play WGXC Ski Report.
