Matthew Hamilton in Capitol Confidential reports that locally, the highest opt-out percentage for students not taking the Common Core tests this spring by district was 66 percent in the Kinderhook Central School District. Statewide about 20 percent of third- through eighth-graders did not take the tests in April, although locally that number was higher, at just under 27.5 percent.
