Lexington rallies for broadband grant

Julia Reischel in The Watershed Post reports that between 150 and 200 people turned out for the "Broadband Pep Rally" in Lexington July 18, as activists there try to bring better internet access to the mountainous Greene County town. Lexington resident Bonnie Blader organized the rally, timed with efforts to win a state grant to fund half of a $3 million project to lay 76 miles of fiber optic cable to 90 percent of the town’s 805 residents.
