District unveils 'bare-bones' 2014-15 budget

Audrey Matott is reporting in The Daily Mail Greenville Central School Board of Education met for a general budget presentation and discussion Thurs., Apr. 3. The district's proposed spending plan for 2014-15 is an estimated $28.6 million, and will require a tax levy increase of 1.7 percent. School officials called the budget a bare-bones spending plan, and said the district was doing as much as possible within the limitations created by the state-mandated tax levy limit and state aid. The board agreed it will prepare the final budget proposal to include the restoration of four clerical positions for 12-month terms.
