Gillibrand claims harrassment in U.S. Senate
Aug 31, 2014 12:02 am
Time magazine reports that New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand says in a new book that she was groped by at least one Senator, and sexually harrassed in other ways by other Congressman. “Good thing you’re working out because you wouldn’t want to get porky,” Gillibrand quotes one fellow Senator in the congressional gym, according to an excerpt of her book "Off The Sidelines" published by People. In the excerpt, Gillibrand says that after she lost weight following a pregnancy, an unnamed Senator squeezed her waist and said, "Don’t lose too much weight now, I like my girls chubby.” A different Congressman told her on another occasion, “You know, Kirsten, you’re even pretty when you’re fat.” Gillibrand is currently working on a bill to reduce sexual assaults on college campuses.
