Voter registration deadline for November election is Oct. 14
The Daily Freeman is reporting the deadline to register to vote in the November general election is Fri., Oct. 14. State residents can apply in person at the New York Department of Motor Vehicles offices when they complete a driver license, learner permit, or non-driver ID transaction, the department said. Those who already have a license, permit or non-driver ID can visit the DMV website to apply to register or update the information they have on file with their local board of elections. Applications must be submitted no later than October 14. The cut-off to apply to register at an office is the close of business, and the deadline to submit an application online is 11:59 p.m. Applications submitted by mail must be postmarked no later than October 14 and received by a Board of Elections no later than Wednesday, Oct. 19, to be eligible to vote in the November 8 general election. Residents can also register in person at their local Board of Elections. Those who were honorably discharged from the U.S. Military or have become naturalized US citizens after October 14 may register in person at the board of elections up until October 29.
