Capital Region's economic development priorities

Nathan Mayberg reports in The Daily Mail the village of Catskill has been identified for a priority project by the Capital Region Economic Development Council, for downtown and waterfront enhancement, as part of the construction of the Catskill Creek Walking Loop. The announcement was made Tues., Sept. 11, during a meeting of CREDC at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. At the same time the Council announced a list of new projects, it announced that just $1 million had been disbursed to businesses approved last year for approximately $63 million in funding. The Town of Prattsville was also identified for a priority project calling for the acquisition of property and redevelopment of the hamlet above flood stage to create new housing and commercial opportunities. Projects at the Olana Historic Site and Catamount Resort in Columbia County were also identified. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
