A DIY Dream House event in Greenville
Mar 22, 2011 3:36 pm
Like it when prime time television creeps into our everyday lives here in Greene and Columbia counties. Well consider this... a new DIY Network Dream House reality television show series of episodes focuses on a Manhattan couple, Fred and Natasha, who buy land to bring their second home rural retreat wishes to fruition. Along the way, they run into untrustworthy excavators, a foundation contractor who tries to cut corners... and then a locally-owned hardware company that pretty much turns out to be their saving grace. In answer for their being featured in the show, GNH Lumber of Greenville, Windham and Coxsackie is hosting a special "I Did It With GNH" celebratory event from 6 to 8 p.m. this Thursday, at their Greenville location in Bryants' Country Square. Founded in 1937 as the Greenville Norton Hill Lumber Company by friends Stanley L. Ingalls and James M. Freeman, the business has stayed in the Ingalls family ever since.
