Mar 12, 2014 5:00 am
Jim Planck is reporting in The Daily Mail a potentially low turnout for the village election in Tannersville next week is expected, as candidates run unopposed. Trustee Leigh McGunnigle is completing his second two-year term and Trustee Brian Walsh is concluding his first. Both are seeking re-election. McGunnigle is a Republican, endorsed by both the GOP and Democratic committees. He works as the general manager of Villa Vosilla in Tannersville. He called the past four years a pretty enjoyable experience. Walsh, a Democrat, was also endorsed by both committees. He is employed in contractor sales at GNH Lumber in Windham. Walsh said his personal goal is to have some form of renewable energy brought into the village. Polls are open noon to 9 p.m., Tues., Mar. 18 at Tannersville Village Hall.
