The Bangladeshi Community of Hudson, NY would like to announce that the 2nd annual Bangladeshi Fair will take place on Saturday, September 1st 2012. The event will be held at the beautiful Henry Hudson Riverfront Park located adjacent to the Hudson Boat Launch on the bank of the scenic Hudson River. Festivities will start at 3pm and continue until 9pm. There will be live performances by local Bangladeshi singers, and dancers. Also, local youth will put together a fashion walk to showcase the eclectic and colourful garments that are worn for different occasions in Bangladesh. There will also be a professional artist from Bangladesh who will perform well known and popular Bangla songs. Vendors composed of local residents will sell food items that are enjoyed in Bangladesh as well as in the rest of the Indian subcontinent. The vendors will also carry craft and clothing items as well. There will also be a Henna stall where one can get their hands or body painted with a temporary “tattoo.” Admission will be free and everyone is welcome. So come and join us for a day of festivities like no other in the upstate region.
