Arts + Transmission + Culture: Radio from the Field Catskill flyer

Arts + Transmission + Culture: Radio from the Field Catskill flyer . A workshop at the Catskill Public Library lead by WGXC Mobile Studio Manager Max Goldfarb. (Oct 01, 2015)

Wave Farm’s WGXC is pleased to present the first in a series of free public workshops taking place at local area libraries this fall. As a part of the Arts + Culture + Transmission initiative, WGXC Mobile Studio Manager and artists Max Goldfarb will lead participants in creating “Radio from the Field.” Participants will make field recordings and edit audio, and learn to construct projects for radio and digital distribution, as a basis for giving voice to our local environments. The two sessions will culminate in a short, radio-ready production that will become a part of Wave Farm's WGXC archive. These workshops will be presented at the Catskill Library for participants 14 to 18 years of age.

The sessions will be held Oct. 1 and Oct. 8. Youth interested in environmental sound recording, soundscape research and radio production are encouraged to attend. No prior experience is required. The sessions are free, but reservations are recommended. To learn more, or to make a reservation, email max@wgxc.org or call (518) 697-7400.
